In my ongoing quest to try some Aussie favourite foods, I have been having some passionfruit that were picked early (vine was cut out) but ripened ok. They are quite tart, but last night I had one with vanilla ice-cream - yummo!

Some of the things I have tried so far are:

Cream cheese spread
Anchovette paste
Buderim ginger marmalade
Vegemite on a piece of fresh crust

Tim Tams (inc the Rum and Raisin flavour)
Mint Slices
Gingernuts
Scotch Fingers
Kingstons
Anzacs
Any kind of Walker's shortbread

Lamingtons
Pavlova

Christmas cake
Plum pudding
Rum balls
White Christmas

Fruit Tingles
Clinkers
Cadbury Snack
Cadbury Rum and Raisin

Pasito
Ginger beer
Sars

Lamb (not as "gamey" as in the US, so it comes over as lacking in flavour)
Sausages
Mullet
Steak and kidney pie, with peas (and once without as the bakery had run out)
Don stras, tomato and cheese under the grill

Twinings Australian Afternoon Tea (promoted in the Sunday Mail before Australia Day with a free sample, so I have bought a big box!)

Next on the agenda is Laksa soup! It's been stinking hot lately, but I'm just gunna have to bite the bullet as time is getting away on me.

Ooh, that takes me back to my uni days, when I ate it straight out of the tin!

I forgot:

Bowen mangos
Fresh pineapple (a slice every morning!)
Lady finger bananas
Nectarines

The Walker's Shortbread are Scottish and are readily found in the USA (at least here in Minnesota).

The other foods sounds great Sheryll - what a joy to be able to have all the Aussie foods right at your fingertips to enjoy!

I prefer the Aussie lamb for just the reason you don't Sheryll. It does taste gamey here. Several times a year we get legs of lamb at walmart that are from Aust. God I miss a baked leg of lamb!

Oh and LOVE mullet! It is sooo nice battered!

Glad you're having a good time mate! I always eat my way through Australia when I'm home too lol
