No way.
beetroot - The ladies in the school tuckshop learned quite early NEVER to put beetroot on anything that I ordered. Never. Ever.
Vegemite - Diarrhea looks more inviting and probably tastes better, though I refuse to do a comparison test.
Lamingtons - ANYTHING with dessicated coconut makes me spew.
mint jelly - Mint belongs in Juleps and NOT on meat.
pasties(the bakery kind) - Spew in pastry.
Cherry Ripes - Coconut- ewwwwwww!
musk sticks. Why would anyone want to eat anything that smells like deodorant/shaving lotion?
Here endeth the lesson. :)

i too dont like lamingtons, but not only because of the dessicated coconut. i find them to be very bland... and using stale sponge cake -
mint anything - dogs piss on mint...
i love musk sticks though, lol!!!
beetroot, grilled pineapple and passionfruit on pavlova- (it TOTALLY ruins it)

Ok...all crazy...I thought you were Aussies...except the people who dislike Chokos....my mum did her best with the butter and salt to make them appealing but no go(not convinced they are Aussie faire tho...origins to Mexico..)...the lambs fry...well....not the most yummy I agree but think of all that iron :)
One of my fondest memories...My dad (meat lover) would do a mixed grill....steak,chops, bacon, liver, eggs....awesome!!!

hate, I loathe lambs fry and that other offal one white and comes wiith white sauce ... turned me off white sauce for 40 years lol well untill I had chicken fried steak with country gravy now I love white sauce.
I dislike Timtams, I will eat one to be polite and not be shunned from an aussie tupperware party but dont offer me a 2nd lol
Tripe is the white one
Wow...looks like I won't be sharing my lamb's fry recipe on the blog then! :ohno:

The last time I ate tripe was back in the 50s when it was a staple at our place on Sunday night. The other foods I can remember from my childhood that I would NEVER eat now is pressed tongue (I can still see it sitting in the fridge) and a delicacy that my Mum called underground mutton aka rabbit. As if the alternative name sounded so much more appetizing.

Lychees, tapioca, sago, milk tea. All the other stuff you guys have mentioned sounds yummy, and I will put some of it on my "must eat before I go back" list.
And yes, I did try fresh lychees here 11 years ago, and they were edible but just not right for my taste buds. :ohno:

My mother is the best cook in the world, she could make anything delicious........except tripe......sorry ma!! LOL. Lambs fry and bacon was a must for me, when I was pregnant. I couldnt cook it, but I could sure eat it.

C'mon Jim......vegemite and diarrhea are nothing alike!!!! Bulldogs supporters are meant to be tough!
And watching the cooking channel the other night, I watched in horror as someone (in the US) slabbed a whole glob of peanut butter onto a hamburger with what looked like close to the lot! I like satay, but I would take beetroot anyday over peanut butter on my burger with the lot

I think it's technically British but I hate Trifle. Not a fan of soggy cake in general and it doesn't matter how much booze is in it, I still can't eat it.
I'm another choko hater. They were never meant to be eaten IMO.

I am with you matt. Some of my mums yummiest faire was oxtail soup and beef tongue with lashings of mash and gravy. You just have to get past the "thought" of what it is.
Now brawn...yuck...gelatinous double yuck!!

Red Rooster is always my first stop when I'm picked up in Rocky lol
I don't think that "organ meat" is an Australian thing, but I'm with everyone else - hate it and you'd have to hold a gun to my head.
I hate musk sticks - I could just as easily eat my toothpaste. :) I don't like those banana lollies - yucko.

I thought that was just because bananas were $12 a kilo last time I was there. :yikes: I always loved the Red Rooster Hawaiian pack - my go to meal after a few beers when I didn't feel like cooking.
