The US version. Do you like it, love it or hate it?

I hate it, particularly the sound. Don't know why. I can't wait for the season to be OVER!!

Anyone have a Superbowl prediction?

Aussie rules is the only way to go. I have been to one American game and did not like it!!!!!!

I love Rugby Union and Rugby League probably because I understand the rules. American football is too slow at times for my taste and there is so much time spent waiting for people to come on and go off the field. It does have it's exciting bits though! lol

I don't like it at all. I watched the whole Friday Night Lights series, and started to get interested, but then tried a real game and hated it again. One of the things I miss most about Australia, is aussie rules. :(

the swine was going to teach me about american football, but he never got round to it. i did, however, convert him to aussie rules...

Dislike American football! Too slow, and I find myself getting frustrated when I watch it, and just want it to end.

Although I just recently discovered an Aussie playing so that made it a little more interesting:) Brad Wing.

don't much care for all the hoopla in the buildup to the superbowl, but like the big event for the parties. Hate the four pages of every sports section for months dedicated to football.

On the other hand, I like being at high school games. I worked the "Chain gang" a couple of games - the people standing on the sidelines moving the markers up and down the yardlines...and that was awesome. BUT I hate watching "my" kids get hurt....too many concussions.

I want the SF 49ers and the NE Patriots to win this weekend, then I don't much care who wins as I have ties to both...but I will go with Patriots for Superbowl Champs 2012

Been a 49ers fan since I first saw a game in 1986 on TV. I'm not too sure about some of the rules, but you can compare the game to chess, with people.

Normally I dont have to see it or hear it but since the 49ers are pulling out the finger this year hubby is all excited and is watching their games. The girls also seem to be watching it with him and the house is a very noisy place on game day.

Me...I go watch the Food Network or HGTV in the other room when its on heh.

Couldn't give a rat's arse about it. Fortunately my American sweetie is like minded, so I don't have to suffer it at all.

"Rooting" for the 49ers - was the first team I supported when Don Lane introduced us to American football. Being in Ohio, we barrack for the Bengals, but I would like to see the 49ers win.

American football is OK - too slow for me. Been to a couple of high school games that I enjoyed - more like Aussie rules rural style. Rugby league kicks American foootballs but for tackling and physicality

Nothing wrong with the game, but the way it's played is way to choreographed and waaaaaaay too slow. How can it take 4 hours for 1 hour game? I'd like to see played with no more than 20 players and with minimum of stop/start. I think it's interesting to look at the differences from Aussie Rules.

It is also the obnoxiousness(is that a word?) of some players. That puts me right off!!!

I also want to know why it is called football? The ball is hardly ever kicked. They should call the game tossball, throwball, but definitely not football.

I also watched Friday Night Lights and was so hooked on that show. I thought it might make me like football but nope, still can't get into the game!

I actually really enjoy the American game - but only the college format. I don't watch or care for the NFL, despite having a 'franchise' just down the road in the Falcons.

My wife is a University of Georgia grad, and anyone who knows anything about the South knows they are crazy about college football down here. So i adopted the 'dawgs as my team and follow them quite passionately. It is a very, very different game from my first love of Aussie rules, but I like that it is so physical and yet strategic and skillful. I am hoping to make it to a UGA game this year (only been once since tickets are so hard to get for a decent price). As well as that, my alma mater, as they call it here, Kennesaw State University, is going to bring in a football team in the next couple of years. So I will passionately support them too. I really can't wait for our first game.

All that said, nothing compares to my love for the Cats!

well we live in the city where the 49ers do their practice and will hopefully have their new stadiium - it's not my favorite sport or team - but I enjoy the super bowl and we will watch it I'm sure

It took me a long time and I had to force myself to go to a game sober before I started appreciating American football. I have been a seasons ticket holder for our local college team for close to 10 years now. I LOVE IT! Not at all into the NFL but don't mind to watch the sport.

As a die-hard AFL person, this is a HUGE thing for me. I didn't think I would ever enjoy American football but it has become a very large part of my life and I am all over it :)

Yeah, how about them apples? No one in the entire country thought we'd do it. That's my boys. Go 'eers. I was skeptical about the coach with the girly name (Holgerstrom or what ever his name is. I call him Dana), but he is really quite a good coach. I didn't like what they did to Coach Stew but it seems like it was good thing to do even if it did suck. So proud of my boys. Thanks Cop, for letting me show that I am as obnoxious a Mountaineers fan as I am a one-eyed Pies supporter :)

I can forgive you, since I quite like the Mountaineers even despite that ridiculous Sugar Bowl result from a few years back. I still reserve the right to rub in the 2011 GF result if I feel like it though :)

And yeah, I reckon Holgerson is going to take you places, though it will be VERY interesting to see how your boys go in the Big 12. Frankly it's amazing to me that a school from a state as small as WVa is so competitive, and it speaks volumes of the program that has been assembled there.

I have no idea what GF you speak of!

Yes, Big 12 will be interesting. ACC would have been a better fit for the supporters (and my husband is a VT fan) but we will get to see some good schools play. Evidently our academics didn't cut it for the ACC! It is going to be hard on the boys to travel so far for their away games though.

It sounds funny but I learned the basics of the games much faster when I went to a game sober. And yes, I had to force myself. Of course I have been through two seasons pregnant so there was no forcing there!

Living in New England....I can't help but follow the Patriots and the Bruins and the Celtics and the Red Sox :)

It took awhile to understand the rules and strategies of the NFL and now we Love it! We look forward to watching the games every weekend! Actually went to my first game in November after we won some tickets (so hard to get) and really enjoyed it, especially the tail gate party :)

My kid is allowed to play any sport except wrestling and football (US). The wrestling, Imhave an issue with the extreme dieting to get down to weight class(also goes for my rower friends too sometimes) and footbAll because of the head injuries.....we have had more concussions at my school this year than I care to count....yes, I know you can get concussions in other sports but the brute force of intentionally slamming people into the ground that goes along with US football is too much for me.

Other than the injury potential, I actually enjoy watching it. Hoping to get invited to a superbowl XLVI party this year.
