Veggie Pie - from Kaz

Ingredients:

  • 2 sheets puff pastry
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1/2 cup raisins (optional, as my kids don't eat them)
  • 3 teaspoons curry powder
  • 2 medium carrots, grated
  • 1 onion, grated or finely chopped
  • 1 stalk celery, finely chopped
  • 1 cup grated cheese
  • 2 cups broccoli flowerettes
  • egg for glazing
  • sesame seeds

Method:

  1. Cut pastry sheets with large saucepan lid.
  2. Mix together ingredients, place on sheet of pastry leaving a border to moisten with water.
  3. Place other pastry circle on top. Firmly press edges together.
  4. Brush pastry with lightly beaten egg, sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  5. Pierce top of pastry. Bake mod oven 40mins.
  6. Serve with favourite chutney or sauces.
  7. P.S. You can vary the ingredients by adding zucchini or cauliflower if you so desired!
