Ingredients:
- ¾ teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup cornstarch
- 5 eggs, separated
- ¾ cup finely granulated sugar
- cream
- strawberries
- raspberries
- confectioner's sugar

Method:
- Sift the baking soda and baking powder with the cornstarch twice.
- Beat the egg-whites until stiff, add the sugar and beat until dissolved and glossy - about 5 minutes.
- Add egg yolks and beat in.
- Sift in dry ingredients (third sifting) and fold through, gently but thoroughly.
- Pour mixture into two buttered and floured sandwich tins, or one large tin.
- Bake in preheated 350 F oven for 25 to 30 minutes.
