Damper - from Sue

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups self raising flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 ½ cups milk
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp butter.

Method:

  1. Sift the flour, sugar and salt into a bowl and then add the butter. Add enough milk to make a kneadable dough.
  2. Shape into a flat ball and place on a greased and floured oven tray
  3. Bake at 400f for 25-30 mins - baste with milk during cooking.
  4. Serve hot, with lots of butter and jam.
