Sha's Old-fashioned Cookies or Teacakes - from Wendy

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup crisco
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 1 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 3 cups plain flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder (If self raising flour used, omit baking powder and salt).

Method:

  1. Cream crisco, butter and sugar then add eggs, vanilla and dry ingredients to make a firm dough.
  2. To make cookies, roll dough thin and cut and bake at 350F on flat sheet pan until lightly brown around the edges (about 10 mins).
  3. To make teacakes make small balls and place on flat sheet pan and bake until lightly brown on the bottom (about 10 mins).
  4. These teacakes are just divine, lovely hot and cold and able to be frozen to eat later.
