Australian Online Shopping in Australia

Christmas, Easter, Mother's and Father's day and family birthdays see expatriate Australians scambling for the search tools to find Aussie internet shopping sites. The following have been donated by "Mates" members and come highly recommended.

  • ShopSafe - This has to be the best Aussie website for online shopping I've seen. Honestly, you really won't need any other website - this one is an amalgamation of many stores offering online services, and each store has to join the affiliate. It's called ShopSafe because each shop has to have passed some sort of security and quality criteria to even be listed.
  • Australiana Online - This is a good website for souveniers, gifts for your American friends and family, or special treats just for you. It has quite a few products that are not usually listed on this type of website. Check it out.
  • Giftlog is a great site for Aussie gift products - and they have some quite unique gifts as well. Belonging to the same company is Boomerang Shack, All Jerky, and Australia Gift. Visit them all for special gifts for your American friends and family.
  • Great Aussie Food - This is another Aussie foods website that caters to Australian expats. This one is based in Australia, and will even do personalized shopping for you.
  • Rivers Australia - Do you miss Australian made clothing? This is a good website for Aussie expats who would like to some quality Australian clothes online, at good prices. They have a good range, and specialize in overseas delivery.
  • AussieBest - This is a fine example of an Australian online store, specializing in Australian merchandise. With such authentic and indigenous wares as Ugg Boots, Exotic Leather Items, Australian Bush hats, Wine Coolers, Therapeutic aids, Baby care, Handcrafted Native Timber products, and much more.
  • Souvenirs Australia - A new online store aimed for catering to the Aussie expat. They offer all sorts of Australian souvenirs which are great to give to American friends, as well as having a few around the house, :)
  • Myer Direct - I always loved Myer. I haven't used this website yet, but I no doubt will this coming Christmas.
  • Dymocks Bookstore - Have you ever noticed that the types of books that are popular in Australia are not necessarily easy to find in the U.S.? Maybe this site is the solution.
  • Kids Vid & Toys - An online store with a focus on Australian toys and books. They specialize in the fun & educational and will deliver anywhere in the world.
  • Greengrocer.com.au - A testimonial from a 'Mates Up-Over' member. "Everyone tells me the quality of their food is just excellent and also if someone doesn't think their quality is good, they will replace the food no questions asked. Also their service is faultless."
  • Wishlist - This is an Aussie online shopping site I have used myself. I got all my family's Christmas presents from here last year, and probably will use it again this year. They were great.
  • David Jones - Another store that needs no introduction. I'm glad to see they cater to online shopping.
  • alt (EVERYTHING) - This is a lovely Australian Gift site, specialising in natural products for personal, household, and even pet use. If you're into natural, or have friends and family who are, maybe you can find your next gift here!
  • The Peter Lik Gallery - Although on the pricey side, this Australian photographer's landscapes are breath-taking. You really have to see this gallery to believe how brilliantly Peter Lik has captured the heart and soul of Australia. Thanks Melissa!
  • Red Balloon Days - Red Balloon Days is a website for Aussie Gifts with a difference! These gifts really are for those people who have everything, or just special gifts for very special people. Check it out, you'll see what I mean.
  • iSubscribe - Do you miss your Aussie magazines? Try this website to subscribe to any of your favourites. I am told they deliver to the U.S., although do check the rates first. :)
  • MagShop - More of the above.
